The following is an extract of a letter sent by Marjorie Gargett and Ann Owen sent to all who had supported the Children's Society throughout the year.
Thankyou so very much for your loyal support of the Children's Society which works so hard to help those children who are dominated by bullying,violence and other conflicts in their young lives.
Another year has hurried by and you will again be pleased with the amounts we have raised.

The Christingle Service brought a large congregation
of families and friends into church and it was a very happy time. Scouts,
Guides, Cubs and Brownies, Beavers and Rainbows took part and the choir
of St. Helen's School sang for us. The prayers were read by a member of
last May's Confirmation Class, the service being led by Fr. McTeer.
