Ash Wednesday

1st March 2006

Ash Wednesday is a day of fast and abstinence and is the first day of Lent. Penetence is an essential part of
Christian life, for none of us can measure up to the tremendous vocation that is ours as Christians.
Today we all express this by taking part in an impressive corporate act of penetence and reconciliation ( receiving ash )
beseeching God for the grace to use with profit the "favourable time" of preparation of Easter.
Ash Wednesday is a day when all Christians should be at Mass. Please be at Church on this important day and
take part in the life giving act of penetence and reconciliation.
